 Scooter & Wheelchair Hire from Shopmobility
Scarborough Shopmobility is a registered charity that provides the hire of powered scooters and manual wheelchairs to people whose mobility is restricted by permanent or temporary disablement, age, accident or illness.
We are now offering:
FREE Daily Hire of Mobility Scooters and Wheelchairs in Scarborough
This service is available to all customers, throughout the year, from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm

The Free Daily Hire Service is very popular, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Long-term hire (overnight hire) is also available for £2.00 per day for wheelchairs, and £5.00 per day for scooters, subject to a £70.00 refundable deposit. Please enquire about 'scooter friendly' accommodation within the area.
Opening times
We are now using our winter opening hours,
which is Monday to Saturday from 11am to 3pm.
From 2 April 2012, we will be returning to Summer Opening Times. These are Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
Please note that we will be closed for the day on 9 April 2012.
Please ring in advance to avoid disappointment.
Volunteers Needed
We are currently looking for volunteers of any ability for various roles at Scarborough Shopmobility. Roles include, but are not limited to Hire Assistants, Delivery & Collection Drivers and Administrators.
We offer a choice of work with training and support, in a friendly working environment and free from discrimination.
Used Scooters
We now buy and sell used scooters to help fund the Free Hire Service. Should you have a scooter that you wish to sell or donate, please contact us.

We are located at the rear of the Brunswick Shopping Centre (20 yards below Debenhams' entrance).

How much does it cost?
We now offer free Daily Hire of all scooters and wheelchairs. Long-term hire (overnight or longer) is £5 per day, or part thereof, for scooters and other powered equipment, and £2 per day, or part thereof, for manual wheelchairs.

Scarborough Mobility
In recent months there has been some confusion amongst our customers within regard to a commerical retailer that opened in the area with a similar name. We are Scarborough Shopmobility, based at 5 Somerset Terrace in Scarborough. We are a registered charity (charity no: 1111575) and have been operating in Scarborough since 2004. Scarborough Mobility is a commercial retailer which opened a few years later, and despite the similarity in name, have no connection with us.
